This year «Porto Franko» will be the place of art exchange, namely aesthetics and outlooks. Creations of foreign and Ukrainian artists will be compared. Works of more than thirty artists from Russia, Germany, Holland, Japan, Belarus, Ukraine, Romania will be presented at the visual festival «Porto Franko».
«This is relevant not only for the residents of our city, but also for people who are going to visit Ivano-Frankivsk in order to listen to music and literary works, watch movies, particularly good documentaries» says Anatoly Zvizhynskyy, the manager of visual program.
Recently Anatoly Zvizhynskyy has returned from Dresden where the negotiations with the German and Dutch artists took place. Besides, the negotiations with Ukrainian artists who are living abroad are conducted. Famous photographer and artist Sergey Bratkov, who works in Moscow, will present his photo exhibition in Ukraine at the festival Porto Franko for the first time. In 1997 Sergey Bratkov was the member of international biennale «Impreza», from which the history of modern Ivano-Frankivsk art starts. It was the embodiment of an ambitious dream – exhibition at the international level, where about forty countries took part. Due to this exhibition, a group of creative people «Stanislavsky phenomenon» was formed.
«Artists managed to draw attention to our city thanks to the art which created a cultural environment» Anatoly Zvizhynskyy pointed.
In the visual part of «Porto Franko» the visitors will be lucky to view the works of Boris Mikhailov, a talented photographer from Kharkiv, who will present his works at the Venice Biennale (one of the leading exhibitions of contemporary art). «Artists found themselves abroad, not in Ukraine. That’s why it will be interesting to see(view) the world from their perspective» Zvizhynskyy said.
During the festival, Ivano-Frankivsk is going to be turned into a port city where art ships from the whole world will moor. Surgical building of the military hospital will be transformed into the ship with holds and rooms where different artistic artifacts will be placed.
«I want to create an atmosphere which our city lacks – to bring us a part of sea» the curator of the festival said.
Boris Mikhailov’s works will bring wind from Venice which is situated at the seashore.
The organizers of the festival are going to transform the city into the sea port, where trade exchange will took place. It will be the exchange of aesthetics and outlooks – comparison of works of foreign and Ukrainian artists.
«This interpretation will be relevant not only for the residents of our city, but also for people who are going to visit Ivano-Frankivsk in order to listen to music and literary works, watch movies, particularly good documentaries» Anatoly Zvizhynskyy says.
